The Facts

Anti-Wrinkle treatments begin to work 2-3 days after the treatment and reach their full effect within 7-14 days. The effects can typically last for up to 3-4 months depending on the individual.

Aftercare

Drink lots of water this will help with lipolysis action If painful immediately after treatment please do not use any pain relief OTHER than paracetamol. NO ibuprofen for 48 hours. Swelling, hypothermia of injected area, haematoma, pressure sensitivity, moderate pain and itching within the treatment areas are completely normal. Sometimes swelling can be quite severe and persist for some time depending on the area treated. Swelling can be reduced by the use of cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth and used for a maximum of 20 minutes per day. Aqualyx works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling that lasts 3-5 days. This swelling can be obvious when having facial treatments (e.g. chin) during this time you may want to organise time off work /social engagements. Abstain from any exercise for 48 hours and any particular demanding physical exercise for 7 days Do not wash or shower or apply any kind of cosmetic on to the treated area with in the first 12 hours following treatment. Avoid immediate exposure to to heat sources for 7 days (e.g. sunlight, UV-radiation, sauna) in the treated area. Avoid treatments using laser, cryolipolysis or radio-frequency. Please speak to your practitioner as to how long you need to leave before you resume any of these treatments (often a period of six months or more). Massage daily. The are will feel tender but persist with gentle circular motions for 1-2 weeks after the procedure. Try to maintain a healthy low fat diet for the next few weeks.
